Abstract
Complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology scaling used for miniaturizing the critical dimensions of semiconductor devices. The enhancement of operating frequency and functionality is done by the cramming of increasing number of transistors onto the integrated circuits. Large number of transistors and higher operating frequency responsible for the increase of power consumption of integrated circuits. Excessive power consumption is a primary hindrance to the advancement of CMOS integrated circuits.
