Mesh-free methods are a particular class of numerical simulation algorithms for the simulation of physical phenomena. Traditional simulation algorithms rely on a grid or a mesh; mesh-free methods in contrast use the geometry of the simulated object directly for calculations. Mesh-free methods in general exist for fluid dynamics and solid mechanics as well. Some methods can handle both the cases. Also these methods are termed as mesh-less methods.
