Abstract
From past few decades, there is a rise in significant interest to fabricate light weight, wear resistant and high strength materials to meet the various engineering applications. Composites are the materials which possess multiple desirable properties by having a heterogeneous mixture in it. In the investigation, molybdenum disulphide with average particle size of 5-20µm were reinforced with aluminium 7075 matrix using stir casting route to synthesis composites having different weight percentage (0, 3, 6 and 9 wt.% respectively) and the same as casted specimens were subjected to macro hardness and wear testing. The prepared specimens were subjected to SEM imaging to study its morphological features.
