Abstract
This document describes the analysis of variation of flexural stresses at a mid-section of deep beam. The beams of different L/D (1.44, 1.28, 1.15) were designed as per the codal provision in IS 456:2000. Data obtain from design is used an input to ANSYS Workbench 16.0 for analysis. It is found that as the L/D decreases strength of the beam increases. Neutral axis shifts towards soffit as the load increases and the stress variation is non-linear. More deviation is pronounced as L/D decreases.
