India is a privileged country in terms of wind resource regime. However, most of it remains untapped at the same time. Large-scale implementation of wind power has been hindered mainly due to its variable nature, and the difficulty in identifying locations with fair wind power potential, especially in developing countries like India. Thus there is the need of utilization of wind energy in urban areas in central India region.
The aim of this review paper is to treasure out the wind power generation capacity using a VAWT for Jabalpur region located in the Central region of India along with the estimation of performance capability of Gorlov wind turbine performance in the same region on the basis of previous research.
