Abstract
The prolonged conflict in the Lake Chad Basin has triggered millions of men and women from their daily livelihoods, making them mostly rely on humanitarian assistance to survive. Much concern has been given to the restoration agenda, with the focus on securitization. However, the humanitarian organization which is known as Oxfam made research in late 2017 showed that early recovery and livelihoods improvement are much needed and should be prioritized to promote resilience among crisis-affected resident, to decreased dependency on humanitarian assistance, and ultimately to promote sustainable peace
