        abstract = {Cultural festivals play an important role in the economic and social development of local communities. Festivals increase tourism, generate employment, improve business opportunities and strengthen cultural identity. This research paper examines both the positive and negative impacts of cultural festivals on local communities in India. Primary data was collected from 200 respondents including local residents, shopkeepers, students, tourists and festival organizers. The findings show that cultural festivals significantly improve local income and employment, but they also create problems such as overcrowding, pollution and commercialization.},
