AI Powered Chatbot for College Support System

  • University campuses are growing more complex by the day, yet the tools students rely on for guidance have barely kept pace. This paper presents an AI-powered chatbot solution that unifies conversational support with seamless indoor and outdoor navigation into a single, intuitive interface accessible to students, faculty, and campus visitors. Rather than flipping between separate applications, users describe what they need in their own words and receive immediate, relevant responses along with step-by-step directional guidance to any location across campus. The driving goal was to replace the frustration of hunting for information with something that genuinely felt like speaking to a knowledgeable campus guide. Existing research treats conversational AI and spatial navigation as separate disciplines, and off-the-shelf GPS solutions break down entirely once a user moves inside a building. This project bridges both gaps by fusing AI-driven language comprehension, a curated institutional knowledge base, graph-based shortest-path routing, interactive 3D floor plan rendering, and map-guided exterior directions into one cohesive platform that makes navigating campus life noticeably simpler.
