Abstract
Magnetotactic bacteria are able to align their swimming direction to the geomagnetic field lines because they possess a magnetic moment. The dynamics of the magnetotactic bacterium in a varying magnetic field is investigated and analyzed by a theoretical model. The trajectory of the bacteria has been setup and the diffusion coefficient has been evaluated. The possibility to quantify the process of a reversal in direction of the motion of the bacterium under the influence of rotating magnetic field has been explored.
