  • Abstract:
  • This study investigates the use of 3D printing in the fabrication of composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs). Focusing on materials like carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) and glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRPs), the research evaluates their mechanical properties, including tensile strength, impact resistance, and fatigue performance. The 3D printing process is optimized to achieve precise fiber orientation and complex geometries for enhanced vessel strength and durability. Experimental testing, including pressure and structural analysis, highlights the benefits and limitations of 3D printing in creating lightweight, high-strength pressure vessels for various industrial applications.
