  • Abstract:
  • This review explores the current landscape of anticancer drug therapies, outlining their classifications, mechanisms of action, and the progression of treatment strategies. It highlights the shift from() conventional chemotherapeutic agents toward advanced modalities such as targeted therapies, immunotherapies, monoclonal antibodies, tyrosine kinase inhibitors, hormone-based treatments, CAR-T cell therapy, and nanotechnology-enabled drug delivery systems. These therapeutic approaches function through diverse mechanisms, including induction of apoptosis, DNA damage, angiogenesis inhibition, and modulation of the cell cycle. Despite remarkable advancements, significant challenges remain, particularly in overcoming drug resistance, ensuring equitable global access to therapies, and optimizing dosing and targeting for personalized treatment. Emphasis is placed on molecular targeting strategies, innovations in drug delivery systems, and addressing resistance mechanisms. Emerging directions include the integration of genomic profiling for individualized treatment, refinement of delivery platforms, and coordinated global efforts to reduce disparities in cancer care. Ultimately, this review underscores the importance of continuous innovation and equitable access to modern cancer therapies to improve patient outcomes worldwide.
