  • Abstract:
  • Green governance is an emerging framework that integrates environmental sustainability with principles of accountability, participation, and transparency in governance. As nations grapple with climate change, resource depletion, and pollution, traditional models of governance are being reimagined to include ecological dimensions in decision-making. Green governance ensures that economic development does not compromise environmental integrity or social equity. This article explores the concept, principles, mechanisms, and real-world applications of green governance, highlighting its relevance in today’s global context. It also examines how governments, institutions, and communities are adapting governance systems to achieve sustainable development and environmental justice. Finally, it discusses challenges, best practices, and the way forward for implementing effective green governance.
