  • Abstract:
  • In the rapidly evolving business environment, technological advancements and globalization have significantly influenced the way organizations manage and develop their workforce. Employees are considered one of the most valuable assets of any organization, and their continuous development is essential for achieving long-term organizational success. With increasing competition and the constant need for new skills, organizations are shifting from traditional training methods toward modern and technology-based learning systems. Digital learning platforms have emerged as an effective solution for employee training and development, enabling organizations to deliver learning content in a flexible, accessible, and cost-effective manner. Digital learning platforms refer to online systems that provide employees with access to training materials, educational resources, and skill development programs through digital technologies. These platforms include tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), mobile learning applications, and web-based training modules. One of the major advantages of digital learning platforms is that they allow employees to access training programs anytime and from any location. This flexibility supports continuous learning and enables employees to improve their skills without disrupting their regular work responsibilities. The present study focuses on examining the effectiveness of digital learning platforms in employee development. The research aims to understand how digital learning contributes to improving employee skills, job performance, engagement, and professional growth. It also evaluates employees’ perceptions and experiences regarding the use of digital learning systems within their organization. The study is conducted with reference to the Aditya Birla Group, a leading multinational organization operating across various industries such as metals, cement, textiles, chemicals, and financial services. Due to its large and diverse workforce, the organization places significant emphasis on employee development and training programs. Digital learning platforms offer several benefits for organizations as well as employees. They provide easy accessibility to training materials and allow employees to learn at their own pace. These platforms also support large-scale training by enabling organizations to deliver learning programs to a large number of employees simultaneously. In addition, digital learning systems often include interactive features such as videos, quizzes, simulations, and assessments that enhance employee engagement and improve knowledge retention. To analyse the effectiveness of digital learning platforms, the study adopts a descriptive research design. Both primary and secondary data were used for the research. Primary data was collected through a structured questionnaire distributed among employees who use digital learning platforms within the organization. A sample of 100 respondents from different departments was selected using convenience sampling techniques. Secondary data was collected from academic journals, research articles, books, and company reports related to digital learning and employee development. The collected data was analysed using statistical methods such as percentage analysis and basic statistical interpretation. The findings of the study indicate that the majority of employees are aware of and actively use digital learning platforms for skill development and professional growth. Employees generally have a positive perception of digital learning programs and believe that these platforms help them improve their knowledge and job performance. Many respondents also appreciated the flexibility and convenience offered by online learning systems. However, the study also identifies certain challenges associated with digital learning platforms. Some employees experience difficulty in allocating sufficient time for training due to heavy workloads, while others suggest that certain training modules could be more interactive and engaging. Despite these challenges, the overall results demonstrate that digital learning platforms have a positive impact on employee development. In conclusion, digital learning platforms play a significant role in modern employee training strategies. They provide organizations with effective tools to enhance workforce skills, improve productivity, and promote continuous learning. By adopting digital learning technologies, organizations can create a skilled and adaptable workforce capable of meeting the challenges of the modern business environment.
