        abstract = {Crime remains a persistent social issue that affects the safety, stability, and development of societies across the globe. In recent years, the focus of crime prevention has shifted from traditional punitive approaches toward preventive and participatory strategies. Among these, youth empowerment has emerged as a critical and sustainable solution. This article explores the role of youth empowerment in crime prevention, drawing upon a survey conducted among undergraduate students at Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. The study employs a descriptive research design and collects primary data from 201 respondents through a structured questionnaire. The research aims to assess the level of awareness among youth regarding crime prevention, examine their participation in related activities, and identify barriers and opportunities for enhancing youth engagement. The findings indicate a high level of awareness among students about crime prevention concepts, legal consequences, and strategies. A significant proportion of respondents expressed confidence in addressing safety issues and emphasized the importance of youth involvement in creating safer communities.},
