Abstract:
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), aimed to reduce exam-related stress and promote holistic development among students. This study examines the effectiveness of CCE in improving learning outcomes, reducing examination anxiety, and promoting inclusive and formative assessment practices in Indian schools. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study gathers data from 60 teachers and 300 students across selected CBSE-affiliated schools in Assam. The findings suggest partial success of CCE due to inconsistent implementation, lack of teacher training, and infrastructural limitations. The study recommends reforms in policy implementation, capacity building for educators, and inclusive assessment tools for making CCE more effective and sustainable.
