Lawyers occupy a unique position of trust within society and are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, competence, and professional conduct. This article examines the ethical foundations of legal practice and the importance of professional identity in maintaining public confidence in the legal system. It explores the duties owed by lawyers to clients, courts, and society, and highlights the importance of ethical education in sustaining the legitimacy of the legal profession. Drawing on both philosophical foundations and practical ethical challenges, the article analyses the tensions that arise in legal practice and proposes approaches to strengthening ethical culture within the profession. The article concludes by considering how ethical formation can be integrated into legal education and professional development.},
