  • Unique Paper ID: 204332
  • Volume: 13
  • Issue: 1
  • PageNo: 1729-1731
  • Abstract:
  • The rise of social media has changed the way people communicate, share information, and interact with society. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp, and YouTube have become an important part of everyday life. Along with their social benefits, these platforms have also created new opportunities and challenges for criminal law investigations. Law enforcement agencies increasingly use social media to gather evidence, identify suspects, track criminal activities, and understand the motives behind crimes. At the same time, concerns about privacy, misuse of personal data, and the reliability of online information have emerged. This research paper examines the impact of social media on criminal law investigations, discussing both its advantages and limitations. The study concludes that social media has become a powerful investigative tool, but its use must be balanced with legal and ethical safeguards to protect individual rights.
