A STUDY ON THE REVENUE GENERATION SOURCES OF INDIA POST PAYMENTS BANK (IPPB)

  • Unique Paper ID: 206873
  • Volume: 13
  • Issue: 2
  • PageNo: 3010-3015
  • Abstract:
  • Rapid advancements in financial technology and nationwide digital drives have fundamentally changed how the public handles money and accesses banking services. This research examines the diverse channels through which India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) generates its income, focusing on how it builds a sustainable business model without traditional lending. By analyzing key operational financial metrics alongside qualitative primary insights gathered from an expert managerial interview and industry literature, the study evaluates the practical efficiency of a service-focused banking system. The applied percentage metrics and descriptive evaluations confirm a distinct reality: rather than relying on interest margins, IPPB relies heavily on customer acquisition, digital transaction volumes, and strategic third-party commissions. Based on these outcomes, the paper provides strategic recommendations for payments banks to enhance digital literacy among rural client bases, roll out broad insurance awareness drives, and broaden business correspondence networks during phases of rapid fintech evolution.
