Abstract
This research paper explores the importance and scope of the English language in today's globalized world. The paper presents a literature review of the historical, social, and linguistic aspects of the English language, and its current use, teaching, and learning. The research findings indicate that English has become the dominant global lingua franca, used for communication in business, education, science, and technology. English language teaching (ELT) has become an important aspect of education worldwide, and millions of people learn English as a second or foreign language every year. The conclusion highlights the ongoing importance of the English language and its potential to shape the future of communication, culture, and identity.
