These voltage stability indices can be used to determine whether a system is close to collapse or not. This is done by identifying the weakest bus in that system. By doing so, we can control certain devices to a certain level and if load keeps on increasing, ultimately load shedding can be done. This paper proposes a method to use fast voltage stability index , using weighted sum genetic algorithm for weak bus identification and further load shedding, when AC power flow solution cannot be found due to the stressed condition existing in the concerned power system. The proposed algorithm aims to restore power flow solvability considering two objectives: Minimization of total load shed and sum of Fast Voltage Stability Index (FVSI) at the selected buses. This is validated using IEEE 30 bus system considering heavy loading condition}, keywords = {Voltage stability, Load shedding, Weighted sum genetic algorithm, Fast voltage stability index}, month = {}, }
