Abstract
This paper neatly examines the critical and creative art of T.S.Eliot as a great force in modern English literature who has been regarded as a classicist and a traditionalist, a great innovative and a critic, a social thinker and a philosopher – all combined into one, for he had a complete and many-sided personality standing in the long line of poet-critics beginning with Ben Johnson and including such names as Dryden, Johnson, Coleridge and Matthew Arnold.
