Abstract
Digital watermarking is a highly evolving field, which involves the embedding of a certain kind of information under a digital object (image, video, audio) for the purpose of copyright protection. It is used to verify the authenticity or the identity of its creators. Divergent Image watermarking techniques comprising spatial domain and transform domain have been proposed. In this paper, we survey the diverse techniques, the way they express the watermark and their comparison. This includes a general description of the usage of watermarking and the fundamentals for the different approaches that can be taken when using watermarking.
