Abstract
ara Joseph is the godmother of women writing in Kerala. She wrote six novels and many short stories. Her novel Aalahayude penmakkalpenmakkal (Daughters of Godfather)had won the Kendra Sahitya Academy award. She is a contemporary in ecriture feminine and an active participant of the feminist movements in Kerala. She is the founder of Manushi which is an organisation of thinking women. Some of her famous works are Aalohari Anandam, Ooru Kaval, Othappu,Mattaathietc.
