Abstract
Fahmida Riaz was a prominent Pakistani feminist writer, poet, and translator whose works have made significant contributions to feminist discourse in Urdu literature. This research paper aims to explore the impact of Riaz's writing on the feminist discourse in Urdu literature. The paper discusses Riaz's literary and political journey, highlighting her role as a pioneer of feminist literature in Pakistan. It analyzes the themes and motifs that are central to her work, drawing on her poetry, novels, and short stories. The research examines Riaz's use of language, form, and structure and analyzes the ways in which her work engages with feminist discourse. The socio-political context of Pakistan during the time of Riaz's writing is also discussed, highlighting the impact of her work on the feminist movement in the country.
