Abstract
Understanding the relationship between neurons and cognition is crucial for unraveling the mysteries of the human mind. In this comprehensive review, we synthesize current knowledge from neuroscience and cognitive psychology to elucidate the mechanisms by which neurons contribute to cognitive processes. We discuss recent advances in neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and computational modeling that have shed light on the neural basis of cognition. Additionally, we explore the role of synaptic plasticity, neural networks, and neurotransmitters in shaping cognitive functions such as perception, memory, attention, and decision-making. Our review highlights the interdisciplinary nature of research on neurons and cognition and identifies key challenges and future directions for advancing our understanding of this complex relationship.
