  • Abstract:
  • Transition metal clusters show unique properties which are distinct from individual atoms and bulk materials. These properties are influenced by size, shape, and composition making them highly valuable in diverse applications including catalysis, biomedicine, sensing, and electronics. This review investigates the synthesis, stabilization, and properties of TMCs of gold, palladium and platinum with a focus on clusters of noble metals such as gold, palladium, and platinum. Mixed clusters of Au, Pd and Pt exhibit synergistic properties that enhance their catalytic performance and stability. The interactions between different metal clusters lead to novel properties, including improved catalytic activity and selectivity, making them suitable for advanced applications in various industries. Overall, this review provides a comprehensive understanding of the structural, electronic, and catalytic properties of TMCs, emphasizing their potential in environmental remediation and energy conversion.
