Abstract:
DID is also known as dissociative identity disorder. One of the disorders commonly seen in psychology is different from borderline personality disorder or mood disorder. It will tell you about DID, what causes a person to suffer from this disorder, treatment and medication for this disorder, and how a person acts while suffering from this disorder. It will also discuss the medicolegal aspects of this disorder. This also discusses how different types of trauma affect a person's mental health. Trauma such as violence, sexual assault, negligence by parents ,feeling inadequate due to parental comparisons , or loneliness during childhood helps in creating alters. A person suffering from dissociative identity disorder has different personalities also known as alters and the original personality is known as host. The personality depends on the original host or personality and how the person creates the alters and uses them for particular situations or for their benefit.
