An Improved Dual UPQC with PV Array to Provide Grid Voltage Regulation as STATCOM

  • This paper introduces an Improved controller for Interline Unified Power Quality Conditioner (iUPQC), extending from its conventional functionality of load voltage regulation now to grid voltage regulation also. The improved iUPQC can act as a Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) at the grid side and as normal iUPQC at load side.The improved iUPQC system has a Photovoltaic (PV) array as an alternative of the dc link capacitor.The whole system was simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation outcomes are proved to verify the new functionality of the equipment.
