  • Goat is usually referred to as the cow of the poor earning person. Goat is simple, small and can be done by landless workers, women and children for use. Goat has ability to survive on little vegetation and grass and living in small place. Goat suite India’s eliminate and economic situation. This is evident from the fact that every year 1/3Rd of goats are slaughtered. But the population of goat has been constantly raising. It was 40.7 million in 1951 and now India has a goat population of 115 million as per the 1992 census. The main breed of goats available in the country is Jamunapari, Beetal, Bar Bari, Sarahi, Osmanabadi, Jhakarna and Sangamneri. Different breeds are found in different part of the country. Depending on the atmosphere of place.
