Closed Loop Control of Quadratic Buck Converter in CCM by using PIC Microcontroller

  • Unique Paper ID: 144676
  • PageNo: 47-55
  • Abstract:
  • This paper presents the analysis of a pulse-width modulated (PWM) quadratic buck or BUCK2 converter operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM). This class of converter offers very wide range of DC voltage conversion ratio enabling higher switching frequencies. In this paper, the steady state analysis of the quadratic buck converter is presented. Results pertaining to the operation of the converter at boundary between continuous and discontinuous modes are discussed. The output 12V/1A, 12 W quadratic buck converters is considered as a design example. Quadratic buck converter simulator is provided validating the analysis presented in the paper.
