abstract = {This paper proposes the Smart Surveillance System using Raspberry Pi and Image Processing. This system will serve as smart security module for monitoring. Traditional surveillance system consumes lots of memory for storing the recordings. Our system proposes to record only when it recognises a human entity. Rather than using a motion sensor which might trigger on any small motion. Our system uses machine learning algorithms to detect humans and start recording at that moment. It will also notify the user on detection of humans by means such as email, and a live feed will also be available for the user to check through his phone or computer.},
