abstract = {This study concerns with the use of micro silica to improve the compressive strength of concrete. Micro silica of much finer size than cement has been proven to be affective in improving mechanical properties of concrete. An experimental investigation has been carried out by replacing cement with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of micro silica in design mix of M25. The materials are taken from the locally available source. In this study, cube of sizes 150mmx150mmx150mm were cast for M25 grade of concrete and testing of the specimens were perform on compression testing machine after curing of 7 days and 28 days for compressive strength test. It is found that an optimum replacement of 5% of micro silica to that of cement (by weight) increases the strength of concrete to 10%. Further addition of micro silica shows a decreasing trend.},
