Charge Transfer Complexes of Paraquat with Para Methyle Aniline in SDS Micellar Medium

  • Unique Paper ID: 161834
  • PageNo: 319-322
  • Abstract:
  • Molecular complexes of Paraquat (PQ) with a p-CH3 Aniline in SDS micellar medium has been studied spectrophotometrically. The entire complexes exhibit one charge transfer band each in the region where neither of the components has any absorption. The formation constants of the complexes have been determined by using Fronasiero and Grieser mothod. The extinction coefficients (ε) and Apparent formation constant of CT complexes have been determined by Rose-Drago method. The positions of the CT-Bands in SDS are closed to those of the CT-Bands in methonol.
