  • surgery first approach or SFOA is an alternate method to the conventional orthognathic surgery in orthodontics.one of the main benefits of this approach is removal of ugly looking decompensation phase. this approach makes use of phenomena called regional acceleratory phenomena (RAP) and natural forces to achieve greater reduction in treatment time. This article gives an overview of surgery first orthognathic approach (SFOA).
