abstract = {The research aims to investigate how past involvement in executing disaster risk reduction (DRR) projects can be utilized to develop efficient and suitable climate change adaptation (CCA) strategies in Bihar. A conceptual structure is put forth to integrate DRR and CCA for improved management of climate-related hazards, emphasizing the necessity for collaborative implementation. The research entails a comprehensive assessment of scholarly, governmental, and non-governmental literature to evaluate Bihar's endeavors in integrating DRR and CCA. The research presents three primary concepts. Initially, the reorganization of institutional arrangements for DRR and CCA is crucial to improve the effectiveness of both planning and implementation. Secondly, greater local-level backing should be provided for DRR and CCA activities, focusing on minimizing vulnerabilities in vulnerable communities. Thirdly, the integration of DRR and CCA through community-led efforts is significantly influenced by the involvement of non-governmental organizations. Although the study centers on Bihar, its findings have applicability to nations sharing comparable geographic and socio-economic circumstances, and facing analogous challenges. The research provides practical suggestions for government entities at different levels to facilitate the integration of DRR and CCA planning and execution endeavors in Bihar. Notably, this paper stands as an initial record highlighting progress in aligning DRR and CCA in Bihar.},
