Sign Language Detection System Using Machine Learning

  • Sign language is the primary mode of communication for millions worldwide with hearing or speech impairments. Despite its widespread use, there remains a lack of accessible tools to bridge communication between sign language users and non-users. This project presents the development of a machine learning-based system capable of recognizing sign language gestures in real time. Using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for gesture recognition, the system demonstrates high accuracy in recognizing static and dynamic hand gestures.
