  • Abstract:
  • Rabindranath Tagore, one of India’s most celebrated literary figures, made significant contributions to the portrayal of womanhood in literature. This research paper critically examines the evolution of feminist themes in Tagore’s writings, focusing on his portrayal of women as complex, multi-dimensional characters who challenge societal norms. Through an analysis of key works, including Chokher Bali, The Home and the World, and The Wife’s Letter (Streer Patra), this paper explores how Tagore’s depiction of womanhood evolved over time and how he addressed issues such as autonomy, identity, and empowerment in a patriarchal society.
