  • Abstract:
  • Geofencing technology has revolutionized location-based services by utilizing virtual borders to trigger pre-programmed actions based on geographic motions. This paper examines the evolution of geofencing from basic GPS-based systems to intricate hybrid systems that integrate edge computing, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. By showcasing the numerous uses of geofencing in sectors like marketing, healthcare, environmental preservation, and marine security, the study illustrates the revolutionary potential of this technology. Case studies such as the Sea Turtle Nests Alert System and mobile health initiatives serve as examples of its utility. Notwithstanding its benefits, issues with precision, confidentiality, and energy consumption persist. This study suggests future advancements like AI-powered geofence optimization, privacy-preserving frameworks, and hybrid positioning systems as ways to get around these limitations. The study combines technological insights with empirical data to highlight the growing significance of geofencing in a connected world. It also demonstrates how creative geofencing can be in a variety of sectors while still being used morally.
