While the world is led by major producers such as India and Vietnam, there are other areas that are very dependent on imports to meet domestic demand. In this letter, Faostat data has been used to perform a multifaceted quantitative analysis of spice production, import, export and estimated consumption in more than 150 countries between 1993-2023. Through the investigation of over 45,000 data points, we measure self -confidence, trade addiction and determine the leading spices in global trade. The results are represented by the time series, the heat map and the stretching at the country level. Our research combines the current debate on food security, business policy and agricultural strategy.}, keywords = {Spice trade, FAOSTAT, agricultural economics, food security, self-sufficiency, global markets, trade analytics}, month = {April}, }
