abstract = {As technology continues to evolve, especially with the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), our everyday experiences including how we shop are being transformed. One area that’s ripe for change is the supermarket. Anyone who has waited in a long billing queue or struggled to find staff assistance knows how frustrating traditional shopping can be. To help solve these common problems like crowded checkout counters, limited staff, and outdated inventory systems this project introduces a Smart Shopping Cart powered by QR code scanning, NodeMCU, ESP32-CAM, and IoT technologies. The aim is to make shopping faster, easier, and smarter.
Each QR code contains key details about the item, such as its name, ID, and price. When you scan a product, the system instantly reads this information and sends it wirelessly to a cloud server or directly to your smartphone via a mobile app. As you shop, your phone displays everything you’ve added to your cart along with the total cost in real-time.
