  • Abstract:
  • Social entrepreneurship has emerged as a crucial approach for addressing global societal challenges by blending business strategies with social objectives. This study explores the role of social entrepreneurship through two case studies: Evita Fernandez, Chairperson of Fernandez Foundation, which focuses on maternal healthcare in India, and Anusha Bharadwaj, Executive Director of VOICE 4 Girls, which empowers adolescent girls through education. The research addresses four key questions: (1) How do social enterprises identify and address societal challenges? (2) What innovative approaches do they employ to create solutions? (3) What is the impact of social enterprises on communities and individuals? (4) What are the challenges and opportunities faced by social entrepreneurs? The study employs qualitative thematic analysis based on secondary data sources, including reports, organizational documents, and scholarly literature. Findings suggest that social entrepreneurship leverages innovative business models, stakeholder collaboration, and policy advocacy to create lasting social impact. The research also highlights key challenges such as funding constraints and cultural resistance. This study contributes to the understanding of social entrepreneurship's potential in shaping public policy and improving social outcomes. It recommends further research into scalability and impact measurement frameworks for social enterprises.
