Recent studies indicate that a country's transportation system must prioritize road conditions to achieve efficient traffic management and reduce congestion. Developed nations, including India, are wrestling with challenges such as rising vehicle operating costs, pollution, and safety concerns. To identify efficient traffic operations, several parameters can be considered, including vehicle types, speed limits, traffic mix, and adherence to regulations. This paper addresses key issues related to the Indian road scenario, specifically focusing on vehicle speed, delays, and pollutants emitted by vehicles.
