  • Abstract:
  • Ashtanga Yoga, rooted in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, represents an eight-limbed path to spiritual and holistic well-being. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of life, places immense importance on Swasthya (health) for achieving the Purusharthas—Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. This review article explores Ashtanga Yoga in the light of Ayurvedic principles, emphasizing its role in physical, mental, and spiritual health. The integration of Yogic practices such as Yama, Niyama, Asana, and others with Ayurvedic concepts like Dinacharya, Sadvrutta, and Achara Rasayana underlines their shared vision of complete wellness.
