Socio-Economic Profile of Sugarcane Growers in Lakhimpur Kheri District of Uttar Pradesh

  • This paper presents an analysis of the socio-economic profile of sugarcane growers in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. A total of 200 farmers were surveyed and categorized into marginal, small, medium, and large farm holders. The study examines demographic, educational, occupational, and income characteristics to understand how these factors influence sugarcane cultivation. The findings reveal that most growers are adults, belong to the Other Backward Classes and primarily depend on agriculture as their main occupation. The study concludes that socio-economic status plays a crucial role in determining productivity and access to agricultural resources.
