        abstract = {Women’s participation in mainstream activity has rapidly increasing in present days mainly because of involvement of women in SHG, NGOs and other government sponsored programmes. .Women empowerment is the process of enhancing quality of life of the women and make them socially inclusive and financially stable. With various skill development initiative, women can become self-sufficient and financially independent. Achieving greater degree of financial independence with self-employment is the objective of women empowerment. There are different women empowerment programmes which are sponsored by government in India. Kudubashree is the one of the important women empowerment programs of government of Kerala and plays an important role in empowering women with the ideas of self-help group, micro-finance and socio-economic activities. The paper is going to look on establishment of Kutumbashree mission in Kerala and highlights various initiatives under it to become women self-sufficient.},
