abstract = {In today’s world, many students move away from their homes to big cities to study in colleges like VIT. When they shift to a new place, they need good places to stay and eat, like PGs, hostels, flats, and messes. But most online websites are made for everyone and are not student-friendly. These websites don’t show useful details like mess timings, rules, affordable prices, or whether the owner is honest or not. Seeing this problem, we created VIT StayEasy, a full website made to help students easily find safe and trusted places to stay and eat near VIT.
VIT StayEasy has two sides one for students and one for people who own messes, PGs, and flats. Students can register on the website, search for options, filter based on what they need, save their favorite places, and see full details. They can also comment and give ratings. On the other side, mess and property owners can register and add their services with full information like price, food facilities, timings, and even their own background. A special feature we added is that PG listings also show details about the owner, like their name, job, and how long they have been staying in the house. This helps students feel safe and trust the owners more.
We used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build the website. For the backend, we used Firebase Firestore to store data in real time and Firebase Authentication to keep user accounts safe. VIT StayEasy is built to solve real-life problems faced by students when they move to a new city. It is easy to use. It not only helps students make better decisions about where to live or eat but also gives local owners a better chance to connect with students. Our project shows how simple web tools, when used properly, can make life better for students and improve the student community around a college.},
