Challenges faced in large scale production of food

  • Large-scale food production has successfully expanded global food availability, yet the system stands on a fragile foundation. Industrial agriculture relies heavily on chemicals, energy-intensive logistics, and aggressive processing methods. These practices escalate environmental degradation, diminish nutritional value, and increase the risk of wide spread contamination. Additionally, logistical inefficiencies lead to massive food waste and carbon emissions. This paper analyzes the core challenges in large-scale food systems and highlights technological and regenerative pathways that can strengthen sustainability, food safety, nutritional integrity, and environmental resilience.
