abstract = {This paper examines the key factors that led to the bankruptcies of Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic Bank. Using financial statements from a sample of banks with a similar business model to Silicon Valley Bank, we analyze data from 2006 to 2022. Bank Efficiency is estimated using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique, serving as a foundational metric for assessing failures within the sample banks. According to the CAMEL model, macroeconomic variables were found to be non-significant, while critical drivers of failure included Bank Efficiency, Capital Adequacy, Earning Ability, and Liquidity Position Ratio. Our findings provide valuable insights for policymakers aiming to prevent future bank failures.},
