  • Abstract:
  • Healthcare organizations increasingly operate in an environment defined by rising costs, regulatory pressure, technological disruption, and growing expectations for quality and patient-centered care. Within this context, a persistent disconnect often exists between frontline clinical practice and strategic decision-making at the executive and board levels. This divide can undermine care quality, staff engagement, and organizational performance. This article examines the nature of the gap between patient care and boardroom strategy, explains why alignment is essential in contemporary healthcare systems, and presents practical approaches to integrate clinical realities into strategic governance. By strengthening clinical leadership, embedding patient-centered metrics, fostering two-way communication, and cultivating a shared organizational purpose, healthcare institutions can better align strategic objectives with the fundamental mission of patient care.
