  • Abstract:
  • Street lighting is an important part of urban infrastructure and plays a major role in road safety and public security. However, traditional street lighting systems often consume unnecessary electrical energy because they operate continuously without considering environmental conditions or road activity. This paper proposes a smart street lighting system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system uses sensors and a microcontroller to monitor ambient light and detect the movement of vehicles or pedestrians. Based on these inputs, the street lights automatically adjust their operation and brightness levels. The integration of IoT also allows remote monitoring and management of the lighting system. This approach helps reduce energy consumption, lowers maintenance costs, and improves the overall efficiency of street lighting. The proposed system can contribute to the development of energy-efficient and intelligent smart city infrastructure.
